About my Writing
My Creativity
“Happily ever after is not a fairy tale. It’s a choice.” – Fawn Weaver
But every choice you make spins your own little fairy tale.
As a writer, I can indulge my love of storytelling in a different way, crafting characters and events that convey feeling, emotion and so much more. I love fairy tales, and they are definitely an influence on my writing. My favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast, it has enchanted me from a young age, and is a story I never tire of.
From the setting to the characters, the move away from reality to a world of endless possibilities, fairy tales bring all this, and my writing is constantly inspired by those qualities. As a writer, I strive to create an emotional connection with the reader, to take them on a journey that they can invest in and enjoy, to create an experience that they will remember and relish.
I launched my debut novel recently, called Darkest Rose, and am currently writing the sequel to that story, and this creative process is one that I truly enjoy. There is nothing better than building a character, a story arc, a location, and finding new ways to describe events that bring everything to life in the reader’s mind.
My writing follows my photography, in that it reflects my love for exploring culture, tradition and finding new ways to bring that fairy tale theme to life.
